I'm so happy you're here.

My name is Mackenzie Young and I am beyond thrilled you're here. I am a birth and postpartum doula with over ten years’ experience as a registered nurse with a longtime dream of supporting women in bringing new souls into the world. Most importantly, in a way that feels empowering for the mother and rooted in a deep trust in the wisdom of the body. I believe childbirth is a rite of passage and can be a very empowering experience for women especially when given the emotional, physical and informational support throughout pregnancy and postpartum.

My goal is to create a safe and nurturing pregnancy and birth experience while making sure you feel informed of all your birthing options. I am here to inspire you to make birth decisions that feel sacred to you, despite outside pressures. In addition to working as a doula, I feel my experience as a RN and my love for holistic care will allow me to offer a well-rounded approach. Whether that be through various comfort measures, birth education, a steady presence during labor or much needed post-partum support in navigating this new chapter. I would be deeply honored to be a part of your birth story.

a short letter from my mom:

"My pregnancy with you was mostly smooth—just the usual morning sickness at the start, which I knew was normal.  When we hit the time frame and discovered you were in a good position, my doctor was willing to try a v-back. He reminded me, though, that if anything went awry he’d need to schedule a C-section."

"The day you were born, I felt calm and so relieved not to be heading to surgery. Once the epidural took effect, everything moved quickly—you practically slipped right out after only two pushes. When I heard “It’s a girl!,” your dad and I were on cloud nine. I’ll never forget holding you for the first time and feeling that rush of joy and gratitude as your dad called everyone to share the news. Our hospital stay was peaceful—wonderful nurses, more presence and much less pain than prior c-section births with your brothers. Babies stayed in the nursery back then, and I just remember not wanting them to take you."
